The Poveretti Story
Authentic Neapolitan pizzeria based in Braeside, Victoria 3195. Proudly run by twin Italian brothers with a shared love for food, tradition, and family.
Growing up in Italy, our passion for pizza was inspired by the warmth of our home kitchen and the way food always brought people together.
The name Poveretti holds a special place in our hearts. It was the name our father gave to his own restaurant back in Italy, a place filled with good food, laughter, and community. In honour of his vision, we decided to carry that name and spirit with us to Australia.
At Poveretti, every pizza is made the traditional Neapolitan way — with slow-fermented dough, fresh quality ingredients, and a touch of family pride. For us, this is more than just pizza; it’s about sharing a piece of our heritage with you, right here in Braeside.

Meet your twins
Marco
Marco is the serious one. He’s the chef, the master of the woodfire oven, and a man who treats pizza like fine art. He’s the dough whisperer who makes the signature Poveretti dough. He believes that slinging perfect pizzas is the harder job and that Nico is an idiot.
Nico
Nico is the fun one. He’s front of house, a drinks and dessert wizard, and the proud creator of a dangerously good tiramisu. He believes dinner should come with a joke, a limoncello and great food. Nico’s job is to deliver excellent customer service (which is the harder job) and Marco is an idiot.
